Description
Black Sabbath is the eponymous debut studio album by Black Sabbath. Released in 1970, the album reached number 8 in the UK Albums Chart and number 23 in the Billboard Charts.
Based around the bands live set, it was recorded in a 12 hour session in October 1969 and is regarded by many as one of the most significant albums in the development of heavy metal.
In 1989 Kerrang ranked Black Sabbath as number 31 in their 100 Greatest Heavy Metal Albums Of All Time.
