Galactic Supermarket

Description

Originally released in 1974 as Galactic Supermarket, this LP was the result of several all-night psychedelic jam sessions fuelled by a krautrock supergroup better known as the Cosmic Jokers. The Jokers were none other than Klaus Schulze and Manuel Göttsching of Ash Ra Tempel (on synth and guitar) and Jürgen Dollase and Harald Grosskopf of Wallenstein (on mellotron and drums) with the occasional vocals provided by Rosi Muller and Gille Lettmann. These historic sessions were organized by producer Rolf-Ulrich Kaiser who, instead of bothering to ask the musicians to cut an album, took the alternative route of feeding them copious amounts of acid and surreptitiously recording the results! This predictably enraged everyone involved in the project, and for decades the recordings languished in legal proceedings. Thanks to Klaus Schulze, however, fans can now bask in their cosmic splendor once again!
