Description
Hurray For The Riff Raff, led by singer & songwriter Alynda Segarra, are influenced by the sounds of classic country, 1960s Rock n Roll, and master singer/songwriters like Townes Van Zandt, Hank Williams and Neil Young, with deep roots in the landscape of America. Their 2011 self-titled album was their debut European release and the first of two albums to be released through Loose Music. The album brings together a selection of tracks from the bands first two self-released albums 2008s It Dont Mean I Dont Love You and 2010s Young Blood Blues.
Make no mistake: this is folk music, but its got nothing to do with the legions of Americana pretenders out there. Ms. Segarras crafting something delightfully arcane and witchy with this recording here these are hymns that channel the raw feelings and chronicle the lives of the fucked-up romantics of Hurray For The Riff Raffs home by the Mississippi.
