‘Metropolis Pt. 2: Scenes From A Memory’ is the fifth studio album by American prog rockers Dream Theater. Originally released in 1999, it was recorded at Bear Tracks Studios in New York, where the band also recorded their second album ‘Images And Words’ and the EP ‘A Change Of Seasons’.
The album is the sequel to ‘Metropolis Pt. 1: The Miracle And The Sleeper’, a song that appeared on the 1992 album ‘Images And Words’. It was the first album with Jordan Rudess on keyboards.
In 2012, ‘Metropolis Pt. 2: Scenes From A Memory’ was voted number 1 of the “Best Prog Albums of All Time” by Rolling Stone and relegated “2112” by Rush and “Close To The Edge” by Yes to the following places.
