Description
The Allman Brothers Bands tenth studio album Shades of Two Worlds is a work where the group went back to their music improvisations. Dickey Betts and Gregg Allman summoned up the spirit of the original band. Nobody Knows is the standout track, with a coursing, jazzy jam with instrumental swells, percolating drum tracks, and dramatic lead vocal that recall the bands salad days. Gregg Allman was the solo keyboardist on the record and he created some original and impressive compositions. The album ends with a cover of delta blues legend Robert Johnsons Come On In My Kitchen.
The Allman Brothers Band was one of Americas greatest Southern rock bands. After the famous 1971 live release At Fillmore East, The Allman Brothers Band represented an artistic and commercial breakthrough. With their extended live jam improvisations they became famous all over the world. As one of the pioneering bands in the Southern rock they recorded several successful albums and singles. The group largely infused hints of the blues, jazz, and country into their music.
