Thee Marloes return to Big Crown Records with Di Hotel Malibu, a confident expansion of the Surabaya trios warm, groove-led soul. Following their debut Perak, the band stretch their sound with richer arrangements, shifting rhythms and a stronger connection to their Indonesian roots. Vocalist and keyboardist Natassya Sianturi, guitarist and producer Sinatrya Dharaka, and drummer Tommy Satwick shape the record as a tight unit, drawing on shared influences and lived experience. Personal stories of love, ambition and change run throughout, from the long-distance reflections of Under the Silver Moon to Six Years, which traces Sianturis decision to pursue music full-time. Elsewhere, Harap Dan Ragu and Boru foreground Indonesian and Batak languages, grounding the bands soulful songwriting in heritage and identity.
