Description
Leisure embrace a more organic, live-recorded approach on Welcome to the Mood, tracking performances rather than relying on loops and breaks. The shift was inspired by extensive touring, with the band seeking to capture the energy of their shows in the studio. To further broaden their sound, they brought in specialist musicians on strings, brass, piano, and backing vocals, pushing the music beyond their own instrumental reach. Despite its expansive palette, the album remains intimate at heart. Written in remote retreats, the songs balance calm introspection with a confident embrace of vulnerability. Lyrically, Welcome to the Mood explores universal experiences of love, loss, connection, hope, and purpose, expressed through the bands warm tones and relaxed grooves. The result is a record rooted in authenticity and humanity while reaching for timeless and forward-looking sounds. Visual inspiration came from Frank Lloyd Wrights Taliesin West, a fitting symbol for an album that fuses tradition with new creative horizons.
