Description
Twelfth studio album, following 2007s In Requiem, from the renowned Yorkshire gothic metallers, its title stemming from vocalist Nick Holmess views on the futility of war in the name of religion. Opting to work this time with Jens Bogren (Opeth, Katatonia) instead of longterm producer Rhys Fulber, the band picked up the heavier parts of the last album and ran with them, resulting in a set of downtuned, crushingly weighty yet melodic and atmospheric tracks that hark back to their doom metal roots.
