Fear Not For Man’ (1977): Among the first albums Fela released following the sacking of his Kalakuta Republic compound by 1,000 soldiers on 18 February 1977. ‘Fear Not For Man’ sounds like a work in progress interrupted by the attack.

‘Palm Wine Sound’ is an attractive, highlife-tinged instrumental that sounds like an earlier recording included to fill out the playing time and enable a quick release during a profoundly difficult period.

Also includes a guest appearance of American jazz trumpeter Lester Bowie who visited Nigeria in late 1976 / early 1977.
