Glen Hansard presents Dont Settle (Vol. 1 Transmissions East), the first of two companion releases drawn from performances at Berlins historic Funkhaus. Rather than a retrospective, this is a live studio document: no second takes, no edits, no studio polish just direct, unvarnished performances. Recorded and filmed over two nights in the vast orchestral hall of the former East German radio complex, the album places Hansard and his band in the round, surrounded by 600 fans each evening. The setting offers studio fidelity with concert immediacy, capturing the physicality and emotional charge that define his work on stage. Spanning key moments from across his career, Dont Settle (Vol. 1 Transmissions East) looks both backward and forward, reframing familiar material in an open, communal setting. The project is accompanied by a feature-length film and making-of documentary, further documenting this chapter in Hansards evolving story.
