Following a 2017 that saw 14-member hip-hop collective Brockhampton (led by Kevin Abstract) release their Saturation trilogy and ascend to the forefront of music, the groups first major label album, Iridescence debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and R&B/Hip-Hop charts. The feat marks another milestone in the groups meteoric rise over the last two years, as theyve released four critically acclaimed albums and toured the world. The self-proclaimed, Best boy band since One Direction, features six diverse vocalists who take turns shining on highlights like New Orleans, Weight, Honey and San Marcos. With Iridescence, Brockhampton pushes experimentation to its absolute limits, stretching the boundaries of what can be considered rap, all the while keeping their freewheeling exploration surprisingly well-rooted in just that.
