Description
There are very few classic rock vocalists where you recognize whos singing after just a few notes. One of these is the voice of the former front man of Scottish rockers Nazareth: the legendary Dan McCafferty. After nearly fifty years of road work with the band Dan had to retire for health reasons. However, that unique instrument, his voice, is still capable of blowing the roof off. Never a man to sit things out, he is back with what is only his third ever outing as a solo artist. Dan McCaffertys vocals, whilst still powerful, are now imbued with a character drawn from a lifetime of performance and of course age. Recorded and produced by Duncan Aitken at Substation Studio in Rosyth Scotland The Last Testament is a unique, outstanding album which will surprise, challenge and delight his countless fans throughout the world. With fifteen tracks The Last Testament is a blistering album with a full mix of lyrical and musical styles. There are, of course, out and out rockers, My Baby and Bring It On Back for example, but at the core of this release is a newly found freedom to explore avenues of creativity of an extraordinary breadth. Teaming up with Czech accordion and keyboard maestro Karel (Kaja) Mařík, a raft of Scottish musicians and Prague based rockers Dr Victor you will be whisked along on an exhilarating musical journey. There are songs of reflection with You And Me and Looking Back, whilst Tell Me, Look At The Song In My Eyes and Nobody Home (duet with Kristýna Peterková) alongside with Sunshine (guest vocal by Nazareth band mate Pete Agnew) are tender love songs.
