Evocative of a long and strange journey from dusk til dawn, Late Night Endless finds the highest common factor between the two producers techniques, Pinchs electronic pulse meeting Sherwoods analogue FX units head on.
The album touches on sci-fi dystopia with Shadowrun, the urban swing of UK garage on Gimme Some More (Tight Like That), on interstellar Nineties ambient dub on Wild Birds Sing and the mystical minimalism of Pinchs first releases on Africa 138. However, none of these stylistic diversions are out of place; they all seem completely of a piece with the incessant bass pressure that runs under everything.
Utilising Sherwoods deep-fathomed bank of sound weapons, Late Night Endless incorporates elements of his previous productions, including vocals by Ghetto Priest, Daddy Freddy, Congo Ashanti Roy, Mikey Dread, Congo Natty, Lee Scratch Perry, Prince Far I, Andy Fairley, Bim Sherman, Bernard Fowler and Skip McDonald, whose piano, guitar and bass work can also be heard.
Mastered by Rashad Becker at Duplates & Mastering in Berlin for maximum frequency detail, this is a highly detailed and carefully sculpted soundworld to lose yourself in.
