Description
As a follow-up to Le Chant du Mondes recent 5CD / 2LP Elvis Presley / Johnny Hallyday When We Were Kings releases, the label have concocted a special program that concerns singer Eddy Mitchell, the second (and last) French legend of the rock n roll era.
Eddy Mitchell, whose career started as early as 1960, is the most important French adapter and interpreter of American rock n roll and popular songs. Long before The Rolling Stones and The Beatles, Eddy Mitchell introduced to the French public unavoidable American artists such as Chuck Berry, Eddie Cochran, Elvis Presley, Gene Vincent, Little Richard and Bill Haley, among so many others. (He is also a movie specialist who has animated for fifteen years his own television program devoted to the 7th art.)
2LP edition contains 36 original selections: 18 original versions by their creators and 18 original French adaptations by Eddy Mitchell.
Original selection creators include artists such as Chuck Berry, Bill Haley, Buddy Holly, Gene Vincent, Frank Sinatra, Hank Ballard, Jerry Lee Lewis, Little Richard, Elvis Presley, Joey Dee, Louis Jordan, Roy Orbison, Ray Charles and Eddie Cochran.
Listening to this program is like attending a party hosted by Eddy Mitchell (or like breaking into his own personal discothèque).
