The Mekons collaborate with Tony Maimone (Pere Ubu) on Horrorble, a dub reinterpretation of Horror that pulls the original songs apart and rebuilds them through echo, bass and space. Rather than simple remixing, the album treats dub as subtraction. Rhythms stretch, melodies drift and familiar tracks dissolve into sparse, echo-heavy versions that reveal new textures within the recordings. The partnership draws on a long shared history: Mekons first toured with Pere Ubu in 1988 and later worked with Tony Maimone in the early 1990s.
