Description
The tireless Sizzla is not only one of the best dancehall artists in the industry, he is also one of the most prolific. Pumping out singles and full-length albums at an alarming rate, the roots-conscious Jamaican toaster produces an endless stream of bumping, rhythmically infectious dancehall for his fans to absorb.
AIN’T GONNA SEE US FALL is a collection of Sizzla’s singles from 2005 and 2006 (only!), and while it is predictably uneven, the collection still boasts a number of fine tracks. Sizzla is at his raw, fiery best on songs like the unrelenting “Sad Mistake,” while the set also shows his slick, pop side (“I’m With the Girls”) and his devout Rasta side (“People Need Love”). All in all, this is a fine overview of one slice of Sizzla’s output in the early 2000s and an interesting example of his insistent need to create.
