Description
On March 23, 2018, the Kris Barras Band will release their new album The Divine and Dirty through Mascot Label Group/Provogue on CD, vinyl and digital. At a very young age Kris Barras was inspired to play guitar. After years of being a published author for various guitar magazines and a professional Mixed Martial Arts fighter (!), Kris has spent his time extensively touring and playing, both with his own band, and as a session-musician. The Divine and Dirty is the product of the past 18 months of writing and recording and is clearly Barras best work to date. Theres a diverse mix of stomping blues tunes, southern rock vibes and even a couple of ballads in there. Hail Mary has the dirty, slide riffs that Kris has become known for, with a large, infectious chorus that will have you humming for the rest of the day. Propane is a catchy tune with a driving beat, great lyrically and a powerful guitar solo to really lift the mood. The gospel-infused Hold on for Tomorrow is a big, Southern-Rock ballad that really shows off Barras vocal prowess and range. The female backing singers compliment Barras perfectly and really bring this song to life. The heart-felt, slow blues Watching Over Me ends the album with a bang. Written in tribute his late father, Kris really lets rip on this song and pours his emotions into every note.
