Description
To further celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Neil Diamonds career, UMe will be reissuing four classic Neil Diamond albums on 180 gram vinyl. Beautiful Noise was produced by The Bands Robbie Robertson and intended as something of a concept album, the songwriters look back at his days as a scuffling denizen of the Brill Building in the early 60s. Brother Loves Travelling Salvation Show is the name of Neil Diamonds fourth studio album, released in 1969. Four months after the title cut became a hit, Diamond recorded and released a new single, Sweet Caroline. Because of its popularity, this song was added to the end of later pressings of the album. Hot August Night captures Neil Diamond in his full glory live on stage. His sweeping anthems mix well with his off the cuff treats like Soggy Pretzels. The Jazz Singer captures Neil Diamonds 1980 screen turn as a charismatic singer torn between Jewish tradition and pop music stardom spawned this phenomenally successful soundtrack album six million copies and counting.
Throughout an illustrious and wide-ranging musical career, Neil Diamond has sold over 130 million albums worldwide and has dominated the charts for more than five decades while becoming a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Songwriters Hall of Fame along the way. His runaway hit soundtrack for the 1980 remake of the 1927 classic The Jazz Singer (which he also starred in making his screen debut), featured some of his most noted and celebrated work including Love on the Rocks, Hello Again, and America. It became his biggest selling album in the U.S. moving over six million copies and found Diamond embracing his Jewish Elvis epithet like never before!
