Description
Vinyl LP pressing. 2012 album from the British singer/songwriter, who has reunited his original band the Rumour for their first album together in 31 years. Produced by Dave Cook and Graham Parker, the collections 12 original tracks of driving and confessional rock and roll were recorded in upstate New York and feature the classic Rumour line-up of Brinsley Schwarz and Martin Belmont on guitars, Steve Goulding on drums, Andrew Bodnar on bass and Bob Andrews on keyboards. After a hiatus of over 30 years, it was extraordinary to hear the Rumour backing my material again, says Parker. Weve finally made an album of true musical collaboration that were all very proud of.
The Rumour joined Parker in 1975 and backed him during a fertile period that produced the albums Howlin Wind, Heat Treatment, Stick to Me, Squeezing Out Sparks (No. 335 on Rolling Stones list of the 500 greatest albums), and The Up Escalator before breaking up in 1981. A recent music documentary on Parker led indirectly to the quintet rejoining their former frontman in the spring of 2012 to record the album Three Chords Good. Parker & The Rumour are also appearing in Judd Apatows film This Is 40.
