Haley Reinhart is best known in recent years for her YouTube fame. Shes been the leading artist with the highest viewed videos on YouTube phenomenon Postmodern Jukeboxs YouTube channel (85 million views and counting) and has another 50 million views for her own non-PMJ videos. Based on her very tangible success with covers, for her new album Haley Reinhart focused on doing covers of classic songs originally released between 1966 to 1969. There are also 3 originals included in the album to reflect the music of this period. In order to be as authentic as possible, she recorded with all vintage instruments and even recorded to tape. Every effort was made to accurately capture the sound of the era. The title of the album Whats That Sound? refers to both the sixties sound in the project, as well as how todays times seem to echo the turbulent late 60s (protests, racial tension, war, etc.
