Brun featured as one of the guests on Peter Gabriels 2011 studio album New Blood, singing on the re-recorded version of Dont Give Up, recorded in 2010. She was subsequently invited to perform with him as support act and back-up singer on the New Blood tour throughout 2010.
Stockholm-based Norwegian songwriter Ane Brun has announced a brand new record titled When Im Free, shared its trailer, and announced a handful of live shows in the UK and Ireland.
The record was conceived after the enforced cancellation of a tour of North America with Peter Gabriel in 2012, Brun said she had an epiphany about various health issues shed been struggling with: One night I woke up and thought, Why are you so afraid? It doesnt help you in any way. Let your mind and body rest so it can heal. When I recovered, I experienced an almost bliss-like feeling. Id replaced all the worrying and fear with gratitude, and the feeling lingered. So somehow, since 2012, Ive been able to approach life very differently than before.
Tobias Fröberg has co-produced the record with Brun.
